Proposed Title:
Description: CNPD is seeking to reactivate the “Nurs-GERNP-MS: MS in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner” and “Nurs-FNP-MS: MS in Family Nurse Practitioner” programs for Fall 2018. At the end of the year meeting of the national nursing accreditation agencies, after lengthy discussion and debate, it was decided to delay implementation of the requirement for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to hold a doctorate degree for certification. Because a doctorate degree will not be required for at least several years, and due to high market demand for nurse practitioners, CNPD is seeking to reactivate these master’s degree options in order to meet the needs of prospective students and contribute to the nurse practitioner workforce in the region.
