The department is looking to update the title of the degree to more accurately reflect the courses and the design of this degree. When the degree was first created, the typical students were coming in with an associates degree in aircraft maintenance and they were wanting to have more of a business focus while completing their aviation degree. This focus has changed over the years and the broader Aviation Studies more accurately reflects the content.
The Aviation Department also proposing to make this degree on-line so we thought it was a good time to update the name.
